With todays lumber prices you dont really even save anything using the fiberboard. Maybe a couple hundred if that. Why does the customer want that when they can add shear bu just using all osb. Theu say that stuff insulates but when i resided my house i removed the fiberboard and teplaced with osb ok the walls and i think the osb seems to keep the house warmer and cooler honestly

Didn’t really want to build my own garage, but contractors are ridiculous right now. Trying to do a basic 25 x 25 garage. My quotes were literally $70-$300k. Then 4 different guys that came out, then ghosted me.

It appears the deck worked for the duration it was in use. Sure it didn’t meet code but it’s only like 12 inches off the ground so hardly a safety hazard.

I just observed that your frames were hanging off the slab by few inches, reason? Won't the frame and sheating be in touch with water on the ground?

Old shit. I am putting in a load bearing wall against 2x2 in a 1500 sq ft 8 pitch roof built in 1935. Life is a bitch.

I demoed a back room, that was 12' long. I was shocked, that it was 2x6's joists. Say what you will, it lasted 40 years. I had to replace them with 2x12's, and ran them from the short side.
